5 Of The Best Supercharged cars. For less then 20 000$

5. 1929 Ford Model A

This Ford Model A with a 700 horsepower blown V8 engine is just the insane vehicle to attract all the divorced middle-aged balding toner salesmen to your parking space when you show up at your local Cars and Crumpets.
Sure, it’ll need a few things, but with a project this utterly ridiculous, it’s worth it to see your neighbors with jaws agape, when you flatbed it into your driveway.

4. 2003 Mercedes CL55 AMG

This Mercedes CL55 AMG is basically an S-Class coupe that has just enough quirky charm to be a love-it-or-hate-it car that drives down prices in the general market, but is a cult classic to MB diehards far and wide.
This just happens to have the 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine that, in modified form, could give anything with a Hellcat badge a run for its leased money.

3. 2002 Jaguar XKR

Before Jaguar made cars for gritty James Bond villains, they made cars for cartoonish James Bond villains. This Jaguar XKR is, in my humble opinion, one of the best looking contemporary Jag designs ever. It looks great even today, has a raunchy engine note that won’t quit, even after repeated misuse, and it will look at home in any garage the world over. If you’re searching for a supercharged car value that can’t be beat, this car is exactly that.

2. 2006 Cadillac STS-V

I’ll level with you all. I didn’t know that this Cadillac STS-V existed before I wrote this article. After the abysmal front wheel drive Northstar V8 version of the STS, I swore off that particular car forever. However, with my love for well-appointed luxury sedans with ridiculous amounts of power, I may have to give this Cadillac a second look. This STS-V has the powertrain from the now-iconic CTS-V, with a longer wheelbase and a price that approaches something you’d pay for a slightly used Chevy Aveo with optional undercoating and an extended warranty.

1. 1999 Buick Riviera

This Buick Riviera was, believe it or not, a direct competitor to the rear wheel drive Lexus SC platform. What Buick did was use their 3800 supercharged V6 engine in conjunction with more tactile comfort than your grandpa’s TV watchin’ chair to make a car that was unlike anything on the market.
No, it wasn’t the best seller, but with the time lapse between its inception and the present day, its looks have come back into favor and it resembles something a bit more upscale and distinguished than whatever Buick’s making to rehash their brand today.

The motorsport genes are also easily recognisable in the production version of the BMW M235i Coupé, courtesy of the aerodynamically optimised body design. It is propelled by the most powerful petrol engine developed so far for a BMW M Performance Automobile: a six-cylinder in-line engine with M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology. With a capacity of 2,979ccm, the racing version is capable of generating 333hp .
Motorsport-specific driving aids such as ABS, DSC and traction control provide the required support motorsport newcomers will benefit from. The car also comes with mechanical limited-slip differential, which is also available for the BMW M235i Coupé in the original BMW Parts range. The racing car is also fitted with features such as the FIA-certified safety cell and the modern safety tank. On top of this come components from the BMW M Performance Parts range, such as the rear and front spoilers, diffusor and carbon wing mirrors.Image result for M235i racing

Lowrider CHEVROLET IMPALA CONVERTIBLE – 58 CALIBER 1958

Ryan purchased his first lowrider at the age of 18. Since then he’s had at least a dozen Impalas. Most of the cars that he’s had were all original, including a 1963 Impala that he would show and place in original class. Building originals is what Ryan knew and knew well. This time around, he wanted to go against the grain; he wanted a frame-off show car. He had never done a car from the ground up and wasn’t sure what he was getting himself into. He believed that six monthes was all it would take to get the car to were he wanted it. It ended up taking four years and it all started with finding the right project car for the build.

He found this 1958 Impala convertible in San Diego. In the last 35 years the pink slip to this 1958 had gone from one hand to another, but it never left the city. “I knew the history of this car; that’s why I didn’t hesitate on buying it.” Knowing the history of the car is important, especially on a high-dollar car like a 1958 rag. The reason it’s important is because there are many conversions out in the market that are valued a fraction of the price. If you aren’t careful, you could end up paying full price for a conversion.
With the car in his possession, Ryan headed over to Hoppo’s to see if they would be able to create a one-of-a-kind setup for him. “I told them I wanted something unique. They saw the caliber of what the car is supposed to be and then Alex at Hoppo’s told me that he had an idea for a one-off setup that he wanted to do for his own car.” That idea was a belt-driven setup. Hoppo’s would create a mockup of the setup before machining everything and installing the setup. Once the one-of-a-kind setup was installed and in working order it went to Top Notch Customs who took care of the setup’s cosmetic needs.

When it came to the paint, Ryan was going to go with a patterned candy blue paintjob. He had legendary painter Sal Manzano come in and candy pattern the frame. “I sat and looked at it for a while. I wanted to do something different but patterns weren’t for me.” He decided to go with a solid color and after researching online, he didn’t find a silver 1958 convertible out there. “I saw plenty of black, red, orange, and common color for 1958s but I didn’t see a convertible that was silver.” Bert at the Chevy Shop did the bodywork, painted the car silver, and then assembled the car. After it was painted, Ryan was talking to Big Al out of Ventura trying to come up with a name for the car. Big Al suggest on calling it caliber since the silver paint reminded him of a bullet and thus the moniker .58 Caliber was created. To finish off the paint he reached out to Fonzy who hasn’t airbrushed many murals in the last couple of years. Fonzy did a single color mural with a variety of ladies holding guns and also painted the car name on it.

Look under the hood and you will find a 5.7 LS motor with an aluminum block. After Ryan and friend Jose Romero took the motor out of a 2003 Corvette, they took it to Turn Key Engine Supply to have it rebuilt. When he got it back, he took it all apart and sent off parts to get chromed. To add the final touch to the engine compartment, TNC came up with a one-of-a-kind cover that was engraved and is going to get murals by Fonzy.
The interior looks stock but it has a minor twist to it. The inserts are leather and all in black and gray colors to go with the paint that was provided by Ciadella and hand-stitched by California Upholstery. The front seat was placed in a custom rail so that 6-foot-4-inch Ryan can put the seat back and seat comfortably.

When it came to the undercarriage TNC designed a custom 9-inch rearend by Currie Enterprises, shaved 3.5 inches off the disc brakes to make them fit, and molded tubular A-arms. Jaime Castanera added the engraving to the undercarriage, rims, and a touch of diamond cut, and Crown Plating dipped everything in chrome.
A couple of days after the shoot, Ryan broke out the 1958 at show for the first time and it instantly became the talk of the show. At the end he took home Best Traditional, Best Hydraulics, and First Place in the 1955-1959 convertible class. This car wasn’t built to be a style car or a points car; it’s not intended to win Lowrider Of The Year; it was built to his liking and that’s at a high caliber.

Lowrider car

Building a lowrider requires money—and a whole lot of patience. To be honest, the emotional roller coaster of building a lowrider is probably what makes us appreciate them so much more.
Just ask Johnny Martinez from Style Car Club. He was building a 1985 Fleetwood Brougham and at the beginning of the project he already knew what he was in for. With a good understanding that it was going to take quite some time, he soon after watched an entire car show season pass him up. This is when he decided it was time for him to get a daily until he had a chance to button up the 1985 Fleetwood.

After making that decision, he began searching for a temporary ride when he found this 1995 Fleetwood on an online site. Soon after, he found himself inspecting the ride, and when it turned out to be in great condition, he bought it.
After riding the big-body (1995 Cadillac) for two years he decided that it was finally time to paint it. The plan was to repaint it with a light blue, simple pinstriping, and light patterns on the roof. He decided on a House of Kolor Candy Blue with a pearl so once the keyholes and rear door handles were shaved the Cadillac was dropped off at Mexico Collision Center (MCC) who would throw the candy and custom pattern job. From there, Alberto Herrera was called in to add murals to the trunklid, E&G bumper kit, and door pillars.

Not wanting to let the rest of the car lack he had MCC and Loco’s For Life Hydraulics install a custom two-pump chrome setup in the trunk. Jarboe Designs then stepped in to install the audio system, which sports a custom fiberglass trunk that gives it an updated look. Once that was done, Jarboe fiberglassed the dash, rear package tray, and door panels, while California Upholstery then used four different shades of leather and vinyl for a custom look on the original seats.

With this Cadillac all wrapped up and ready to show, he’s not only pushing one mean low-low but also pushing back the completion dates of his 1985 build. Then again, it’s probably not a bad thing, when you consider just how clean this one came out.
We can’t wait to see what becomes of the 1985, and we’ll keep you posted on any progress.

Sport and stock car racing

In sports car racing, production-derived versions of sports cars, also known as grand tourers (GTs), and purpose-built sports prototype cars compete within their respective classes on closed circuits. The premier championship series of sports car racing is the FIA World Endurance Championship. The main series for GT car racing is the FIA GT1 World Championship. There is also the FIA GT3 European Championship as well as the less powerful GT4 European Cup. Previously, an intermediate FIA GT2 European Championship existed, but the FIA dropped it to cut costs. Other major GT championships include the Japanese Super GT championship and the International GT Open for GT2 and GT3 cars. There are also national GT championships using mainly GT3 and GT4 cars featuring professional and amateur drivers alike.
The Audi R18, the best racing car
Sports prototypes, unlike GT cars, do not rely on road-legal cars as a base. They are closed-wheel and often closed-cockpit purpose-built race cars intended mainly for endurance racing. They have much lower weight and more down force compared to GT cars, making them much faster. They are raced in the 24 hours of Le Mans (held annually since 1923) and in the (European) Le Mans seriesAsian Le Mans Series and the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. These cars are referred to as LMP (Le Mans prototype) cars with LMP1 being run mainly by manufacturers and the slightly less powerful LMP2 cars run by privateer teams. All three Le Mans Series run GT cars in addition to Le Mans Prototypes; these cars have different restrictions than the FIA GT cars.
Another prototype and GT racing championship exists in the United States; the Grand-Am, which began in 2000, sanctions its own endurance series, the Rolex Sports Car Series, which consists of slower and lower-cost race cars compared to LMP and FIA GT cars. The Rolex Sports Car Series and American Le Mans Series announced a merger between the two series forming the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship starting in 2014.
These races are often conducted over long distances, at least 1,000 km (621 mi), and cars are driven by teams of two or more drivers, switching every few hours. Due to the performance difference between production-based sports cars and purpose-built sports prototypes, one race usually involves several racing classes, each fighting for their own championship.
Famous sports car races include the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Rolex 24 at Daytona24 Hours of Spa-Franchorchamps, the 12 Hours of Sebring, the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen, and the 1,000-mile (1,600 km) Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. There is also the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring on the infamous Nordschleife track and the Dubai 24 Hour, which is aimed at GT3 and below cars with a mixture of professional and pro-am drivers. In North America, stock car racing is the most popular form of auto racing.[10] Primarily raced on oval tracks, stock cars vaguely resemble production cars, but are in fact purpose-built racing machines that are built to tight specifications and also called Silhouette racing cars.

The largest stock car racing governing body is NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing). NASCAR's premier series is the Sprint Cup Series, its most famous races being the Daytona 500, the Southern 500, the Coca-Cola 600, and the Brickyard 400. NASCAR also runs several feeder series, including the Xfinity Series and Camping World Truck Series (a pickup truck racing series). The series conduct races across the entire continental United States. The NASCAR Pinty's Series conducts races across Canada and the NASCAR Toyota Series conducts races across Mexico.
NASCAR also governs several smaller regional series, such as the Whelen Modified Tour. Modified cars are best described as open-wheel cars. Modified cars have no parts related to the stock vehicle for which they are named after. A number of modified cars display a "manufacturer's" logo and "vehicle name", yet use components produced by another automobile manufacturer.

There are also other stock car governing bodies, most notably the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA).
In the UK, British Stock car racing is also referred to as "Short Circuit Racing". This takes place on shale or tarmac tracks – usually around 1/4 mile long. The governing bodies for the sport are the Oval Racing Council (ORC) and BriSCA. Both bodies are made up of individual stadium promoters. There are around 35 tracks in the UK and upwards of 7000 active drivers. The sport is split into three basic divisions – distinguished by the rules regarding car contact during racing. The most famous championship is the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars. Full-contact formulas include Bangers, Bombers and Rookie Bangers – and racing features Demolitions Derbies, Figure of Eight racing and Oval Racing.
Semi Contact Formulas include BriSCA F1, F2 and Superstox – where bumpers are used tactically.
Non-contact formulas include National Hot Rods, Stock Rods and Lightning Rods.
UK Stock car racing started in the 1950s and grew rapidly through the 1960s and 1970s.
